Institut Stimmkunst is pleased to announce that we will be hosting masterclasses with the renowned Maestro David L. Jones from New York. My dear friend and mentor will be here in Zürich offering his vocal wisdom in a public masterclass on October 12th 2019 from 12 to 4pm.
It is Stimmkunst philosophy to promote expert colleagues and mentors who have philosophies similar to my own as a singer and teacher. These classes are always so interesting and informative.

Vocal Master Class / “A Modern Guide to Old World Singing”

MASTER CLASS FEES: Students $20; Adults & Seniors $35 Sponsored by the NSU Foundation in conjunction with Old Dominion University School of Music The Master Class will begin at 11:00 am with a lecture by Maestro Jones on general vocal technique followed by a vocal lesson with eight different singers each 25 minutes finishing at 5:00 pm including a lunch break from 1 to 2:15.
PRIVATE LESSONS: Six additional private voice lessons (limited) will be available Friday, Nov. 15th for $120 for one hour. (Contact K.Lakoski. These are reduced rates for this weekend only).
David Jones (www.voiceteacher.com) has developed an international career as author, teacher of singers and teachers in Europe and in the U.S., having worked as guest faculty at Universities and Conservatories worldwide. He has taught and developed the voices of many singers from the most renown opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera, Covenant Garden and La Scala. He recently published the book “A Modern Guide to Old World Singing” which contains historical vocal training. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University and continued his pedagogical research at the University of North Texas.
David Jones’ master class will be designed for young professionals and students of voice who wish to receive an evaluation vocal technique with suggestions. Emphasis will be given to any issues that one may have such as tension, hoarseness, lack of projection, etc. Parents, friends of the universities and community who are interested in the world of classical music are welcome to join the event.
